The City of Angels witnessed citywide festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-game World Series championship. Supporters worldwide united with Angelenos in jubilation, marking the initial time in 25 years that a team has secured back-to-back championships.

Victory Parade Attracts Massive Turnout

Local celebrations included a procession through the city center on Monday morning, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.

Online footage show thousands of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many carrying handmade banners and team flags. The team was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the crowds, hoisting the championship trophy high.

“I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an interpreter.

The procession path ended at the stadium, where the players walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ spinning music and Ice Cube driving a light blue classic car around the field.

Early Celebrations and Player Reactions

Festivities began prior to the parade, with supporters lighting fireworks in the roads of Downtown Los Angeles on the previous evening.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the MVP of the championship, spoke directly about the win.

“We refuse to lose,” he stated. “I love the Dodgers. This city means everything to me.”

Varied Responses and City Unity

In contrast, the team owner was met with a cooler reception at the celebration. Video footage from the event appear to show Walter walking onstage to a mix of applause and boos, with jeers interrupting his address.

The championship acted as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for the city. An approximate quarter-million people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to Dodgers player one athlete, fans this year demonstrated equal or greater enthusiasm.

“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” he remarked. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
