During a public appearance to a cathedral in Staffordshire on the start of the week, the King was shouted at by a individual who asked him about Prince Andrew's connections with disgraced financier Epstein.

The protester inquired how long the King had been known about his sibling's association with Epstein, and also raised doubts about whether he had asked the authorities to "cover up" for Andrew.

Despite the protest, there were throngs of well-wishers and cheers for the King, who was visiting Staffordshire for an engagement.

The Duke of York's associations with Jeffrey Epstein have been under intense scrutiny in recent weeks. The prince, who gave up his royal duties earlier this month, has categorically denied any wrongdoing.

"For how long have you been aware about Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein? Have you asked the authorities to cover up for Andrew?"

The King ignored the questions but carried on meeting fans, some of whom shouted "God Save The King". One fan can be heard requesting him for a hug.

A female bystander outside the venue was also heard telling the heckler to "go away" and to "be quiet".

Scandal Reignited by Posthumous Publication

The controversy over the Duke of York's connections to Epstein has been revived by sexual abuse allegations detailed in Virginia Giuffre's posthumously-published memoir.

In the memoir, Ms Giuffre claims she had sex with the royal on multiple times, including once with Epstein and "eight other young girls"

Andrew, who reached a financial settlement with Ms Giuffre in 2022, has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. In 2019, he told a news program he did not remember meeting her "ever", and that they "never had any sort of intimate relations."

Fresh Questions About Finances and Housing

But in recent times, fresh questions have been raised about how he is able to finance his lifestyle despite not being a working royal.

The revelation that he has only ever paid a nominal fee on his Windsor mansion has heightened the scrutiny over his living arrangements - even though he made large payments initially, including for renovations.

The political party said he should be called in before MPs to give testimony about his rental agreement of his residence.

But last Thursday, the authorities refused to give parliamentarians time to discuss the royal's status or his home, despite increasing calls for scrutiny.

The royal household has not commented on whether the Duke of York might relocate of his current residence - or where he might reside.
