Jurgen Klopp admits a return to manage Liverpool is conceivable.

The German coach, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, remarked that rejoining the club remains something that could happen. Klopp, post a game-changing nine-year spell featuring continental glory and the Premier League crown for three decades, has since taken on roles overseeing worldwide football with the Red Bull group and providing guidance for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

They secured the Premier League in the previous campaign, though countless followers holding him in high esteem would welcome the idea of his potential comeback. Speaking candidly, he explained to the podcast host: ā€œI said I will never coach a different club in England. Which implies should it be the Reds...absolutely. It's plausible.ā€

ā€œAt 58 years old, so I could make the decision down the line, it's uncertain. Is a decision required immediately? Then I will not coach again. Luckily, I don’t have to do that. I'll wait and observe what lies ahead.ā€

Conditions for a Comeback

When asked about which situations would need to occur to bring him back to management, he revealed he was not instantly drawn toward coming back. ā€œIt's unclear to me, I love what I do right now,ā€ he said. ā€œI don't crave being a coach; I avoid standing during downpours for lengthy sessions; I'm glad to skip interviews four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews each week.

ā€œThe locker room isn't missed as a dressing room, but sitting in a restaurant with the team enjoying conversation, that’s nice. With many victories so there was often positive atmosphere at the club. I still have Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh vividly recalled as an instance.ā€

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly regarding Arne Slot, crediting him for the tweaks which secured the championship last campaign. Liverpool have lost a string of losses in all competitions following significant transfers, but he rubbished the notion of it representing a slump.

ā€œ[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if spoken against. He’s an incredible talent. Ekitike, excellent performer. This is a well-built well-judged squad. No need for concern about Liverpool, they will be fine.ā€

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of Diogo Jota, a 2020 acquisition in 2020, and its impact for the team. The Portugal international was killed in a road accident alongside his brother in July.

ā€œCan you substitute a person like him? It goes beyond the player himself, it’s the guy he was. I can’t imagine the squad without him in it. I still cannot speak properly on this topic. A devastating blow for all the boys also. Nobody at Liverpool would cite it for poor performances though it's a fact. Being in that space where his spirit remains. Handling this individually is challenging. Impossible.ā€
